For the first phase of a two-phase project at Provost Square, Rinaldi constructed this 2 story parking structure consisting mostly of W30x99x60”L cambered structural steel spandrel beams, galvanized composite metal deck, lightweight DCI concrete, and strongcote elastomeric traffic bearing topping. The project also involved sitework and landscaping, including the addition of a pre-engineered anchorstone site retaining wall, miscellaneous iron pipe rail and HID, metal halide and HPF ballasts and poles on upper parking garage level.
With a project start falling in the middle of a U.S. Government embargo on imported foreign steel, Rinaldi had to work around a steel shortage created by limited supply. Through pure diligence and determination, the order was produced by going north to the Canadian marketplace. Given such efforts, Rinaldi was able to minimize the scheduling impact subjected upon the project by politics.
