The Rinaldi Group of Florida breaks ground on a 94-unit affordable housing project for developers Housing Trust Group (HTG) in collaboration with West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).
“As a premier builder in the region, The Rinaldi Group of Florida is proud to have been chosen by HTG as General Contractor for this prominent project that will provide opportunities for so many families in West Palm Beach.” – Anthony T. Rinaldi, President, The Rinaldi Group of Florida.
The project known as Flagler Station will be an eight-story apartment building providing 94 one, two and three-bedroom affordable housing units for people earning 30% to 80% of the area median income. This will be the first affordable housing development of its kind in Downtown West Palm Beach. The West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has also approved a $500,000 contribution for a park behind the development. The 34-foot-wide, landscaped, lighted park will run behind the building. Plans call for installing a “ghost train,” an outdoor artwork recalling the trains that once rode the rail, which will remain in place.
The under-linear park, designed for all ages, will also serve as an attractive pedestrian pathway toward the Tri-Rail commuter train station diagonally across from the apartments, and will link with an upcoming streetscape project on Tamarind.
