250 5th Ave Tops Out as Future 5 Star Hotel Mixes Old and New in Elegant Transformation

Licensed General Contractor The Rinaldi Group celebrates the topping out of 250 5th Ave, a soon-to-be high-end hotel combining a new 24-story hotel tower with a 100-year-old, 6-story landmarked building.

From Empire Management:

250 Fifth Avenue is a proposed luxury hotel that will combine the adaptive reuse of an existing 6-story, 40,000 square foot structure, and a ground-up development of a 23-story, 90,000 square foot newly constructed tower. The two buildings will be adjoined, and will combine to encompass 155 hotel keys and approximately 20,000 square feet of public space. The total project square footage is 130,000 square feet.

The project designed by Perkins Eastman and with structural MEP consultation by WSP Group and interior design by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio will see the existing façade of the landmarked structure completely restored. The newly designed interior will hold two high-end restaurants.

For General Contractor Rinaldi Group, the project was much more challenging than a ground-up new structure. Great care and innovative building methods were used to protect the old structure and retain and restore its façade.

The project is expected to be completed September 2020.

The Rinaldi Group is a full-service licensed general contractor and construction management firm, building upon its foundation and tradition of self-performance in both the public and private industry sectors alike. The Rinaldi Group was named NJ’s fastest-growing company for 2015.
