Project Description:
As done before with the elliptical profile design of the new auditorium and gymnasium building at Bergen County Vocational Technical School, Architect Ronald Schmidt once again created a unique, technical fascia in the trapezoidal design of this new gymnasium and auditorium structure.
With Rinaldi’s value-engineering abilities, the choice of a monolithic poured rubber floor versus tongue and groove, hard maple wood, enabled the Northvale Board of Education to maintain the budgetary requirements of their bond referendum for the project.
In bringing together a new addition with modifications and alterations to an existing, fully-operational facility, Rinaldi had to phase construction activities, often performing shift work around the clock, working holidays and weekends to complete this project in time for September’s new school year.
