Project Description:

The restoration and rehabilitation work involved in this landmark building included new custom ceramic pool tile, and gypsum ceilings, soffits and trim in the natatorium, including the addition of a stainless steel accessibility lift, a new cardiovascular exercise room with hard wood floors, a sauna, men’s and women’s locker rooms and showers, offices, and a new elevator.

This project also included the removal and replacement of the existing boiler and MEP systems up to the 3rd floor level, which will be continued In the future, under a separate phase of construction.

The New Health & Fitness Center opened its doors on January 3, 2000 to an enthusiastic community response. In only its first three months, HFC membership grew to more than 500 strong.
